Complete results have now been posted – just click on the ’2012 Race Results’ link shown above, and then choose either ‘Final Results’ of ‘Final Results Lap-By-Lap Detail’ for the complete listing of each runner’s lap-by -lap times for each of the loops they ran. The course is a 3.46-mile loop in the Sanctuary, run 29 times for a total of 100.3 miles.

2012 Runner Waiver Forms Are Now Posted!

Both the runner waiver forms that all runners will need to sign are now posted under the ‘Runner Waiver Forms’ tab shown above. Every runner – and every pacer or support person who leaves the parking lot to run or walk all or part of the trail system – MUST sign BOTH waiver forms and leave the originals with Race Officials at the Start/Finish area or at the Aid Station area. Blank forms will be available for all during the entire event, but you are encouraged to print out both forms, sign them, and bring them with you to Registration. 2012 Race Entry Is Closed

With a complete roster of Entrants now in place, Requests to run in the 2012 Ancient Oaks 100-Mile Endurance Run are no longer being accepted. A Wait List is being developed and will be published on this site no later than Sunday evening, September 23. Although there are already more than 20 runners on the Wait List, it is possible for aspiring entrants to request that their name be added to the Wait List. Understand that being on the Wait List puts a premium on a runner’s flexibility – most of the 2012 Entry Slots that open up between now and race day will only open in the final two or three weeks before the race, as Entrants who are on the fence about running finally make their decision. Please e-mail race Director Mike Melton at mike@mcmelton.com if you would like to be added to the Wait List.

Invitations To Run in the 2012 Ancient Oaks 100-Mile Endurance Run have been sent out as of 11:00 PM Eastern Time Sunday, September 2, 2012. If you requested an Entry into the race, you should have gotten an e-mail either confirming your Invitation or offering to add your name to the Wait List. Requests for Entry into the 2012 Race Are Now Being Accepted!

Requests for an Invitation to Run in the 2012 Ancient Oaks 100-Mile Endurance Run are now being accepted! The 2012 race dates of Saturday and Sunday, December 1-2, 2012 have been confirmed with park officials and preparations are now underway for the event.

The race is an invitation-only, no-fee, minimal-aid event in the ‘old school’ tradition of ultramarathons. A maximum of 60 Entry slots will be awarded for 2012, and entry into the race is solely determined by the Race Director. Historically, more than 150 runners have requested entry into the race, so many deserving runners must be turned away each year. The deadline for submitting a Request for Invitation to Run is Friday, August 31, 2012.

All Requests will be accepted until then, and the field will be chosen and posted about 48 hours after that cutoff date. After August 31, runners submitting a Request to run will be added to the Runner Wait List, which will be maintained and periodically posted to the website.

Final Results Are Now Posted

Final results for the 2011 race are now posted – just click on the ’2011 Race Results’ link shown in the header at the top of this page to see the results. These results are preliminary in the sense that if errors are uncovered, they will be corrected, and a review of the intermediate timing mat data has not yet been performed. Pending this, these results may be updated, and if that happens, the date of the update will be noted. Lap-by-lap split times are also posted for each finisher.

Dates for 2011 Race Have Been Set!

The 2011 Ancient Oaks 100-Mile Endurance Run will be held Saturday and Sunday, December 3-4, 2011. The race will start at 7:00 AM EST on Saturday morning and will finish at 3:00 PM Sunday afternoon, for a 32-hour cutoff. The race is no-fee and is by invitation only, and has a 60-runner maximum.
