The first race update email – Post No 1 – has been sent to all Entrants who are on the Entry List as of December 2, 2016. It’s also posted to this website, under the ‘Race Updates’ tab. Please read it and contact the Race Director with questions!
The 2016 Entrants List and Wait List have been updated as of 3:20 PM December 2, 2016 – the Wait List is down to 24 runners, and that should change often between now and race day, as both Entrants and Wait Listers evaluate their plans to run the race. More race Update messages will be sent out between now and Race Day, and each Update will also be posted here on the website after it’s sent.
The race date of December 17-18 has been confirmed with the park management. We look forward to seeing you in Titusville the third weekend in December!
The Entrants’ List and the Wait List for the 2016 race are now posted – please click on the links shown above to view them. Although there are a couple of unconfirmed runners on each List, this is the most up-to-date information to be had.
Both Lists will be updated as necessary, as changes become known. If you are on either List, and your situation changes in such a way that you need to drop off either List, PLEASE let us know as soon as possible – your situation affects other runners in the race!
For those who would charge ‘discrimination’ of some sort 😉 – there are 36 Men and 24 Women on the Entrants’ List, and 38 out of 60 Entrants are from the State of Florida. Everyone who requested an Invitation to Run was offered either an Entry or a Wait List spot. Some have declined the offer already, which leaves a potential race field of 132 runners (60 Entrants and 72 Wait Listers).
No more additions to the 2016 field will be accepted.
As of June 14, there are a little more than 100 Requests for an Invitation to Run in the 2016 race, which is about the same pace as was received in the past couple of years. This means that as of June 14, one’s chances of getting an Entry into the race are about 1 in 2 or so. It’s expected that the final count will approach 200 Requests (last year was 177), so one’s chances to gain an Entry into the race will end up being about 1 in 3 (33%) to 1 in 4 (25%).
Requests for an Invitation to Run in the 2016 Ancient Oaks 100-Mile Endurance Run will be taken beginning June 1, 2016 and will continue to be accepted until June 30, 2016. At that time, the Window will close and no further Requests for an Invitation to Run will be accepted. The 2016 Entry List and Wait List will be published on or before July 4, 2016.
If you would like further information about how to get an Invitation to Run in the race, please read the ‘How to Request an Invitation to Run’ page as well as the ‘Entry Selection Process’ page.
