Final results are now posted for the 2014 race. There were 33 finishers out of 66 starters for a 50% finish rate, about the same as in previous years. The weather was excellent for running – warm and sunny during the day, cool and damp at night, with no rain at all.
Sung Ho Choi won the race for the third time with a finishing time of 18:17:47. Sara Maltby finished second in a new women’s course-record time of 18:52:00, eclipsing Monica Sholtz’ 19:19 from 2005.

Congratulations to all who ran!
The Final List of Race Entrants is now posted – just click on the link above that says ’2014 Entrants List’. The Wait List is now complete – at this point, we will only take drops out of the race. No more runners will be allowed to enter. Race Update Number 1 and Number 2 have also been posted – just click on the ‘Race Updates’ link shown above for further information.
The 2014 Race is completely full, with 70 runners on the Entry List, and a Wait List that stands at 74 runners as of July 30, 2014. Please do NOT contact the Race Director with Requests to run in the 2014 race – no more such Requests will be accepted. Requests for the 2015 race will begin being accepted on June 1,2015. Thank you ALL for your interest in the race!
Final results for the 2013 race are now posted – simply click on the ’2013 Race Results’ link shown above, and then click on the name of the results you wish to view. In addition to the ‘summary’ Final Results, there is a loop-by-loop split breakdown for every runner’s time on each of the 29 3.46-mile loops of the course. The women put in a strong performance, as more women than men finished (18/27) than men (15/40) and with a higher finish percentage. Everyone but Andrew Barrett got chicked . It was a gorgeous weekend to run in the Enchanted Forest Nature Sanctuary!
The third Race Update is now posted – just click on the ‘Race Updates’ link shown above to view it. There’s also a PDF file of the Update available for easy saving and/or printing. Less than three days until race start! The first and second Race Updates are also posted there as well.
The Indian River State College research project has been cancelled due to illness.
The 2013 Wait List has been completely processed – every runner who asked to remain on the List has now received an Invitation to Run! Entries are now officially closed for 2013! No more Requests to Run will be accepted – the race is presently slightly ‘oversubscribed’ so the only changes to the Entrants’ List will be to remove those who drop out between now and race day! There’s always 2014 !
And then there were just 6…
The Wait List is moving again, as Entrants drop out and as Wait Listers drop to move on to run other races. At this rate, everyone who stays on the Wait List may well make it into the race itself ! The original 66-runner Wait List has been pared down to just 6 runners left!
Invitations to Run in the 2013 Ancient Oaks 100-Mile Endurance Run have all been sent out, and a Wait List of about 60 runners is already in process. Please do NOT send any Requests for an Invitation to Run – there simply is no more space in this year’s race. Please try again next year! The time frame to Request an Invitation to Run will open on or about June 1, 2014 and will remain open for about six weeks, in order to give as many runners as possible a chance to request an entry into the race. See you in 2014!
If you are interested in running the 2013 Ancient Oaks 100-Mile Endurance Run, set for Saturday-Sunday December 21-22, 2013, please carefully read and follow the process described on the ‘How To Request an Invitation to Run’ link shown in the header above.
This is an INVITATION-ONLY event, which means that you do NOT simply ‘enter’ the race – you politely ask the Race Director for an Invitation To Run, and then wait to see if you receive one. Remember that in the last couple of years, more than 120 runners have asked to run, and there are just 60 Entry Slots, so many deserving runners do not receive an Invitation To Run.
